.... and I don't get it.

[spoiler:ccf2afb1a2] So the main character semi-dies and turns into a bird or some shit, and the girl he was trying to help dies off anyway. The winged creature he's looking for is still trapped by the spell of sadness and nothing has been accomplished except to kill off the girl and more or less kill him off too. Is this a retelling of a Japanese lengend or something, because otherwise I'm not understanding the point of it.[/spoiler:ccf2afb1a2]

... is fucking awesome. Welcome to the future, folks. First off, for the nerd in all of us, this baby uses mini-disks. Those little baby CDs that they show in spy movies? Oh yeah! (I'm guessing they're some kind of high density DVD format.. but whatever!)

The screen seems much larger than it really is and the picture quality is fucking astounding. Mine came with Spiderman 2 and I watched about ten minutes of it. It's more like being in the theatre and less like watching it on the boob tube. Very clear. I haven't broken open the games yet, but I hear the graphic quality and processing power of this baby is supposed to be greater than that of the PS2.

I wish I hadn't gotten the freaking DS. It's been a couple months now and they still have crap for games. This thing is out for one day and already there's a decent selection. A+ so far!

edit: Oh, the games I picked up were Twisted Metal and Wipeout: Pure. Will let you know how they are later. Right now I'm letting the baby charge to full. Supposed to take 2 hours and 20 minutes and last three to five hours, though you can leave it plugged in.

Anyone know any good English aids for learning Japanese? The place where I work does some trading of people to Japan, so I'm hoping to learn the language and get a paid vacation there eventually. ;) That, and the more languages you know the better! Any CD courses or anything else that you guys have used?
